Community

Outside of ‘traditional’ types of service we endeavour to meet the social needs of our community. Please contact the Rectory on 01386 462648, if you are interested in any of the following:

  • We are working towards providing crèche facilities at some of our services at St James’, Bishampton, St Peter’s, Flyford Flavell and St Bartholomew’s, Naunton Beauchamp.
  • The Flyfords Family of Churches provide and run an after school club at Flyford Flavell First School during term time. We meet on a Monday afternoon from 3.15 pm – 4.30 pm. This club, called BFG [Best Friends with God] is open to all children of first school age attending the school.
  • In half-term and holiday periods we meet with teenagers to accompany them on their journey and their quest to find out where they belong in the community.
  • The Flyford Supper Club is up and running on the last Friday of each month in The Dolphin, Bishampton It is designed for those ’30 Somethings’, to share a meal and discuss current issues of interest. This is primarily set up for those for whom it might be difficult to find an appropriate forum within rural communities in which to socialise. If you have young children, we might even be able to help you by providing a ‘grandma’ to babysit for you.
  • The Men’s Breakfast Club is an opportunity to indulge in a traditional ‘fry up’ and to listen to guest speakers.
