Our Mission

The Teams

Leadership Team

This team will comprise representatives from all the parishes and will be responsible for taking collective decisions regarding the development of the benefice. It will develop responsibility for the raising funds for projects and allocating resources to specific projects. The team will draw on the experience of key parish officers which will include the Flyfords Family treasurer.

Worship Team

This new team was formed on 25 February following the very successful , ‘Worship Changes Lives’ course in January 2009 , plan and co- ordinate the worship for the benefice. Its main function is to co-ordinate the worship for the major festivals. It will also be exploring new ways of worship to encourage a greater commitment of families to attend church.

PR Team

Co-ordinate the publicity in our family of churches.

This will primarily be concerned with helping the other mission teams publicise what they are doing. Development of suitable marketing material for courses which the Flyfords Family will be running. Building on the prime source of communication , Newssheet developing other kinds of media to communicate the message. Our website will be the prime source of information.

Social Justice Team

This team will be working with all our churches to develop and strategy and policy on what areas of social justice the benefice wants to support. Developing close relationships with organisations which campaign and support social justice. Co-ordinating a charitable giving campaign to support the chosen areas of social justice.

Nuture and Evangelism Team

This team will plan and organise courses for the benefice to encourage both Christians and those who may be seeking to know more about the Christian faith. It will encourage prayer and study groups in the family of churches form different age and interest groups to meet together in a social setting. Examples might be s follows, The Flyfords supper club which meets on the last Friday of the month at The Dolphin in Bishampton is part of this team. From 1 May there will be a series of Men’s breakfasts with guest speakers held every six weeks on a Saturday in the Boot inn in Flyford Flavell.

Young People's Team

This team has been formed and is joining young people on their journey to help them to discover the benefits of exploring the Christian faith in the context of their spiritual health. A residential will be organised each year starting this year weekend from 24-27 July 2009. Click on www.nantmor.org for more details of the fabulous location for this year’s residential. This team also has a well established connection with Flyford Flavell First School where the Rector is a governor . There is also a well established after school club called Be Friends with God (BFG).

Eco Team

To develop a strategy with the Eco-congregation organisation on the sustainability of our churches including the maintenance of them and to help our congregations to celebrate good practice which is already happening , to highlight areas for improvement and to work out priorities for action. This team will also consider how we can promote sustainability of our villages in the context with the future of the planet.

Pastoral Team

To develop and expand a pastoral care pastoral strategy and a team for the Flyfords Family of churches.
